By John Pye deceased to Leonard Smith and by said Leonard conveyed and assigned to the other containing 200 acres leased for three lives to myself by said John Pye in trust only to the express purpose that they permit my said wife and my said dau. Dorothy and the survivor of them to enjoy the same. I devise two parcels of land on the main road from the dwelling house of Samuel Hanson, merchant., to Bryan Town, the one of 75 acres, the other of 90 acres to my wife Ann Smith and dau. Dorothy Smith, "I Whereas my cousin Benjamin Smith and myself took up two parcels of land of 20 acres adjoining the land purchased by Charles Green from Wm. Digges and others, I give and devise my right to said Benjamin Smith.

To son Henry two tracts in Port Tobacco in Charles Co. being part of a tract called Chandlers Hills and part of another tract called Welcome devised by Roger Smith my brother dec'd. to his wife Henrietta now the wife of Ignatius Wheeler for her life and after her death to me, which land I am in possession of by assignment or contract by said Ignatius Wheeler to Jere Aderton.

Leonard SMITH and Elizabeth NEALE were married. Elizabeth NEALE (daughter of Dr. Charles NEALE and Mary SMITH) was born on 25 Oct 1734 in Charles, Maryland. She died in 1820 in Frederick, Maryland.

Joseph Smith (1758-1828), who served as steward on Carrollton Manor until his death, was the son of Leonard Smith and Elizabeth Neale Smith, a daughter of Rachel Darnall's mother by her marriage to Dr. Charles Neale.
