1. Peter MALOTT , Sr.1,2,3 was born in 1727 in New Jersey. He died on 22 May 1806 in Washington, Maryland.

Peter Malott will of January 17, 1805, filed for probate in Washington Co., Maryland on May 23, 1806:

"In the name of God Amen: I Peter Malott of Washington County and State of Maryland being weak in body but of sound understanding thanks be to God for the same, knowing that it is appointed for all men to dye and to yeald unto death do on the seventeenth day of January in the year of Our Lord eighteen Hundred and four constitute and ordain this my last will and testament and none other.

First I recommend my soul to Almighty God who gave it hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven prepared for his elect goods and chattels as it hath pleased God to bless me with I settle in the following manner.

First I will and order that all those past debts I owe in right and continuance to be paid by my executors convenient time after my decease.

I will and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Rachel on third of my Rail estate during her natural life provided she remains my widow but if she married again then that part to fall to the rest of my lands to become the property of three of my children that I have willed my lands to.

I will and bequeath unto my well beloved sons Peter, Michael and Daniel Melott the whole of my Rail Estate they paying to the rest of my children the sum of Four hundred pounds current money to be paid as hereafter mentioned (to wit),

To my son Thomas Melott the sum of fifty pounds in one year after my decease. To my son Dory Melott the sum of fifty pounds to be paid at the end of two years after my decease.

To my son John Melott the sum of fifty pounds to be paid in three years after my decease.

To my son Joseph Melott the sum of fifty pounds to be paid at the end of four years after my decease.

To my son William Malott the sum of fifty pounds to be paid at the end of five years after my decease.

To my son Hiram Melott the sum of fifty pounds to be paid at the end of six years after my decease.

To my daughter Hannah South the sum of fifty pounds at the end of seven years after my decease.

To my daughter Sara Steward the sum of fifty pounds to be paid at the end of eight years after my decease.

I subject and burden my Rail Estate for the payment of the aforesaid sum of four hundred pounds and after the aforesaid sum of money is paid then the whole of my Rail Estate is to be the right and estate of my three sons Peter, Michael and Daniel Melott their heirs and assigns forever they taking the land in possession immediately after my decease.

I will and order that my personal estate except my negroes to be sold at public venue within three months after my decease and the money arising from the sale thereof to be applyed to pay my just debts and whatever may be left shall be equally divided among all my children.

I will and order that the whole of my negro slaves shall be free, the male kind when they arrive to the age of thirty six years and the female kind to be free when they arrive to the age of thirty years.

I give and bequeath my negroes to my three sons Peter, Michael and Daniel Melott on the above condition that is to say until they arrive to the age of thirty-six and to thirty as above mentioned.

I nominate and appoint my well beloved sons Peter, Michael and Daniel Melott whole and sole executors of this my last will and testament, Impowering them to act in all things in my stead. In witness whereunto I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal as my last will and testament in the presents of us the subscribing witnessed."

"On the 23 day of May 1806 came Jonas Hogmire and Henry Isenberger two of the three subscribing witnesses to the within last will and testament of Peter Melott and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the testator herein named sign and seal this will that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they subscribed their names to this will in the presence of and at the request of the testator and in the presence of each other and that they saw John Edwards the other subscribing witness do the same."

"Washington County to Wit On the 27 Day of May 1806 came Rachel Malott widow of the said deceased and refused to stand to and abide by the aforegoing testament and last will of said deceased and elected to take her thirds in lieu hereof."

"Washington County to Wit Be it remembered that on the 29 day of May 1806 came Peter, Michael and Daniel Malot and made oath that this is the true and whole will of Peter Malot late of said county deceased that hath come to his hands and possession and that they do not know of any other." Peter MALOTT , Sr. and Sarah Rachel KEYES were married about 1764 in Washington, Maryland. Sarah Rachel KEYES4,5 was born in 1734 in Prince George, Maryland. She died in 1796 in Essex, Ontario. Peter MALOTT , Sr. and Sarah Rachel KEYES had the following children:
