87. John CURRENT was born on 25 Oct 1802 in Monongahela, Virgina/West Virginia. He was brought up in the Primitive Baptist Church teachings.³³ He was a wheelwright.³³ He was a teacher in Jay and Henry counties.³³ He & his wife, their 3 children & other relatives emigrated in covered wagons to Henry County, Indiana in 1834.³³ He was elected as an Associate Judge of Jay County in 1850.³³ He was elected to several posts: Rd Supervisor, Twp Trustee, Twp Clerk & Bd of School Trustees. He died on 24 Jul 1881 in Jay, Indiana. He was buried at Old Redkey Cemetery in the southwest part of town.

John CURRENT and Mary (Norries) NORRIS were married on 19 Dec 1829. Mary (Norries) NORRIS (daughter of David NORRIS and Susannah LAKE) was born on 24 Dec 1803 in Monongahela, Virgina/West Virginia. She died on 9 Jan 1875 in Jay, Indiana. She was buried at Old Redkey Cemetery in the southwest part of town.

Mary Norris is the daughter of Susannah Lake and 1st cousin of Rebecca G. Lake who married William Putnam Current, son of James Current II.

Mary is also the 1st cousin of William Bailey Lake who married Mary Current, daughter of James Current II.

Mary is the 1st cousin of Elizabeth B. Lake who married Abraham James Current, son of James Current II.

Mary is the 1st cousin of Ila T. Lake who married Rachel C. Current, daughter of Peter Current and Rebecca Jones.

She is also the 1st cousin twice removed of Althea Current. - PLO
