On November 13, 2005, Geraldine Emily Arbogast passed away. Geraldine will be missed by her many friends and her family. Geraldine was predeceased by her dear husband Lemuel Wesley Arbogast. She is survived by her two dear sons, George LaVerene Smith and Eduardo Victor Aguinaga. Geraldine was predeceased by her daughter Rose Marie Smiley; by her brothers Lloyd, LaVergne, Elston Lynn and Chester Marion; and by her sisters Hazel Lock, Evelyn Ottosen and Ellen Ottosen. Geraldine enjoyed many hobbies including bible study, cooking and dancing. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Aquahart Rd. Geraldine was a loving woman whom many will miss.

Geraldine Emily OTTOSEN and George Thomas SMITH , Jr. were married on 21 Jul 1937 in Manistique, Schoolcraft, Michigan.⁴⁷³ George Thomas SMITH , Jr.⁴⁷³ (son of George Thomas SMITH, SR. and Dora Etta HUTCHINSON) was born on 2 Oct 1915 in Manistique, Schoolcraft, Michigan.⁴⁷³ He joined the US Army at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois on 17 Dec 1940.⁴⁷³ He was stationed in the European Theater of Operations, HQ VI Corps, and Third US Army HQ in Feb 1943.⁴⁷³ He was commissioned as a Warrant Officer in the US Army on 7 Sep 1943.⁴⁷³ He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal on 7 Sep 1945.⁴⁷³

The Bronze Star Medal was "for meritorious service in direct support of combat operations from 20 August 1943 to 6 May 1945 in North Africa, Italy, France, Germany and Austria.

He was with the CIC at Ft. Holabird, Maryland in Feb 1947.⁴⁷³ He was given a letter of Commendation from the Office of the Secretary of Defense on 2 Aug 1950.⁴⁷³ He was with the 113 CIC Detachment out of Chicago in Sep 1950.⁴⁷³ He was stationed with the 28th Inf. Div. in Oct 1951.⁴⁷³

This division was known as The Bloody Bucket Brigade and was a part of the CIC Detachment, stationed in the European Theater of Operations, Cook Kaserne, Geoppingen, Germany.

He was stationed at Carlisle Barracks, home of the U.S. Army War College in Jan 1955.⁴⁷³ He was stationed in Izmir, Turkey between 1961 and 1965.⁴⁷³ He was stationed at Ft. Hayes, Columbus, Ohio, as a Senior Enlisted Advisor in 1965.⁴⁷³ He retired from the US Army at Ft. Hayes, Columbus, Ohio, with 27 years of service on 1 Nov 1967.⁴⁷³ He died on 12 Oct 1988 in Marquette, Michigan.⁴⁷³ Geraldine Emily OTTOSEN and George Thomas SMITH , Jr. had the following children:
