From the Horse’s Mouth

The Small Animal clinic also went well. I was on the arena side all day, but was told they were very busy. There were many feed suppliers in attendence, and they donated many items for raffle. Dog and cat winners will be contacted by Lake Helen Police/Animal Control. Horse product winners picked up their winnings that day!! LeFils Feed, LH Animal Control, & WVSC will be making plans for a Fall clinic at LeFils Feed to offer these services once again for booster shots, and Coggins again!!! Date and time to be announced.

Mrs. Snowden, Pres. of Parks & Rec. in Lake Helen, spoke to our club concerning the future site of our arena. The ECHO grant did not work out, but they wanted the club to know that they support us, and wish to help in any way possible. Thank you Mrs. Snowden for coming, and for your continued support!! We will be holding a Directors meeting in early May to further discuss this issue, and will be inviting Mrs. Snowden and Mayor Shuttleworth (who was unable to attend our last meeting) to help come up with some idea’s.

We had a Great Pleasure show on Sunday the 14th of April. We had 34 riders, and 4 of them were the CUTEST leadline kids. They all did so well that our judge, Lisa Childersm, awarded all riders 1st Place Ribbons!! I love days like that, full of laughing, smiles, just good ole’ fun. We had a wide range of equine’s at this event, from small ponies to one BIG draft horse named “Biguns.” This 1,590 pound horse is owned by Rick & Eve Hunt. This was his first show, and I think all of us were driving him over the crossrails!!

Everyone did a great job!!

There were, as always, some pretty nice prizes for the Grand & Reserve Champions of the day in 5 divisions.
