If I Smile Real Big What Do I Get? |
By Betty O'Laughlin |
Hi! My name is Meesha. I’m a Border Collie. In case you didn’t know we are very intelligent
and are bred to herd. Of course, I don’t have anything to herd but chickens
as I’m afraid of horses. And Mr. Mike would not be very happy with me if
I tried to herd his chickens or pheasants. I’m very good as I don’t bother them
at all. The main thing I like to do best is to have someone throw a ball for
me. Sometimes I even catch it in mid-air. I’ve had several owners and homes but
I think I like this one the best, probably because I am spoiled rotten here.
People tell me all the time what a wonderful dog I am and I do my best to live
up to the praise. A few weeks ago I had lots of my owner’s grandchildren here and I had a ball. They threw the ball for me and gave me lots of pats on my head. I even got to sleep on the floor in the kid’s room. Up till then I had to sleep downstairs but I managed to make my way upstairs and now except for the beds I get to sleep anywhere. I just smile really big and they can’t resist me. Mr. Mike gives me cookies when Jack gets cookies. Jack doesn’t seem to mind me being here and Annie, the cat, just looks at me. I think one of my best qualities is I rarely bark. And then it’s not very loud. So I hope I’ve found my forever home, I just wish all dogs could be as lucky as me. |
