Fire Station 35 - Lake Helen, Florida

The fire station located on Ohio Street was built in 1959 and has served Lake Helen well but it is time our firefighters had a new home.

Currently, a new station is being designed that will be built on Main Street, just east of I-4 costing the County of Volusia Fire Services $664,329.  Plans for the station include four bays for trucks, a training/conference room, several offices, kitchen, day room, and male and female sleeping quarters.

The architects of the state-of-the-art building are Hawkins and Hall of Daytona Beach.  It will be built by Saturn Builders of Brevard, Inc.  They hope to break ground this November and expect to take nine months to build it.

Review of the final development plan will take place before the Lake Helen PLDRC (Planning Board) at a public hearing on October 15th at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers.
