Can Christmas be just around the corner? Really?! My goodness it is! Before you know it, there will be signs of holiday hustle and bustle every where. Sights of our neighbors at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, riding The Butler Express, attending Christmas services and parties and waiting in line to see Santa Claus will decorate our streets.

A great group of volunteers have gotten together to rejuvenate The Lake Helen Annual Christmas Ball!

The Ball will host a number of wonderful holiday scenes such as "Ginger" who will lead the entertainment with her fabulous dance music and electrifying voice and personality. The fabulous food will tease your pallet from the moment you arrive at beautiful Hopkins Hall. Heavy horsdoeuvres, delectable desserts along with Yule tide beverages will be served complimentary. Along with the magnificent decorations, the men of Lake Helen will be a thing to admire in their coats and ties. The beautiful women of Lake Helen will also be a thing of glittering beauty as they decorate the view of the Hopkin's Hall dance floor in cocktail dresses and holiday gowns. Tickets will be available for purchase soon $10/person or $12.50 at the door.

The planning committee would like to recognize 10 citizens of Lake Helen for all the wonderful things they do in our community. "Ten Citizen Hearts of our Community". Voting ballots will be available in The City Observer, Creative Arts Cafe and City Hall.

Additional ballot box locations to be announced. Please take time to vote for your favorite Lake Helener. You can even vote for yourself!Many people are still willing to give so much even in this economic crunch it is nice to show our appreciation to our neighbors.    The "Ten Citizen Hearts of our Community" will be announced at the Ball.

     There will be a 50/50 Christmas Ball Fund Raising Raffle in Market in the Park beginning Saturday, October 1, 2011. There will be an additional Christmas Ball Dessert Fund Raiser inside the atrium next door to Local Flavour Coffee House Saturday, Oct 15, 2011. This will be a refreshing stop whether you are visiting our local Market or walking the Lake Helen Studio Tour. Taste fabulous desserts for a small donation and if you like it.......get the recipe to add to your personal collection for another small donation.

     The Christmas Ball will showcase Hopkin's Hall in an elegant community celebration which will help create a balance in event echelons in order to build The City of Lake Helen's event success thus helping to secure economic stability. So come to the ball, support your community and have a grand time at the Lake Helen Annual Christmas Ball 2011!!! Eat, drink, be merry and share the joy of the season with friends and family in you community.

Christmas Ball planning meetings will be held on Thursday at 7p.m., October 13 & November 10.
