American Legion Auxiliary Update

First thing this month I would like to thank everyone who helped with their donations, physical presence, delicious baked goods, etc., that made our September projects such a success. We raised more money this month than has been raised in many months. Again I am singing the praises of Vikki Loeffler for all her labor & support. Karen Zimmerman, Dene Masters, Mary Roberts , Rose Densmore & myself were joined by several volunteers ie: Joanne MacDonald, (who made the delicious meatball subs) Sharon Cremen, Betty Dougherty, Barbara Montgomery, etc, etc., etc., who donated yummy baked goods & their time to help where needed.

We will continue to work diligently to earn enough $$$ to spruce up the Post and support our veteran's projects. Be on the look-out for us at Blake Park on October 8 at the Market in the Park when we will be having another bake sale and will also have some plants for sale.
If you have good used items suitable for a yard sale, please notify us as we are collecting for another sale next year and also, we need new (or items that are in excellent condition) for our annual veteran's

Christmas Party. We help a group of Vets from the Wellness Center in Daytona get presents for themselves & their families at no cost to them. They love it!!! We host a party, help them select their 3 or 4 gifts, gift wrap them and watch their faces glow with delight. It's a heart-warming experience and we feel as though we have done a little something to pay back for all they have given us. We need to thank our vets more often!!!!! This is what the American Legion is all about.
